Creating a Webpage

This website was inspired by a college course that I took while student teaching where I found that having a webpage can be useful in the classroom.  We were only given a week to create this and connect the concepts on this website to family and community.  I plan to continue to use this website for my students and their parents to access that is informative and also provides fun and educational experiences.  To me, a teacher must have passionate enthusiasm and a love of learning that overflows excitement into the students and awakens that same desire within them to inquire about the world.  They must become an expert on their student’s abilities and needs so they can teach in a way that reaches each student in their class personally.    A teacher must create a community within their classroom that fosters respect beginning with their example and demeanor.  They must be firm and consistent in their management decisions and facilitate learning and discussions that forms an environment of acceptance and team work among the students.  A good teacher must be willing to collaborate with team members and respect each and every other teacher in their building as a peer, as well as a great resource of information.  Ultimately, a good teacher works at all things with a positive attitude to reach their full potential and provide their best for the benefit of the students.

I hope to get students out and experiencing the world around them through exploration, experiments, play, and even helping in the community.

    Meet Miss Coon

I love to learn new things! One great place to learn is by spending time in nature and the outdoors! Any opportunity that I can get to take a bike ride, hike, or walk I will gladly do it! I also love music and enjoy playing my flute at church and singing with my sisters. But most of all, I love kids.  My passion is to teach children to inquire, and to love learning about this incredible world as I do. My students tend to think I love to learn just because I am a teacher. By modeling the struggle of learning and researching my own interests, I hope my students and others can follow my example and be empowered to seek after their questions to find answers in the midst of the struggle.
